The Kenney’s, Tim and Julie, take enormous pleasure in serving the south Fort Collins community and beyond through their place of business, Ace Hardware of Fort Collins, located at Harmony & Lemay. Owner Tim Kenney worked in banking for 28 years while his wife Julie worked in the marketing industry prior to taking ownership of Ace Hardware of Fort Collins. Their combined experience of banking and marketing give them the tools and expertise needed to lead one of the most successful hardware stores of the Front Range.

As longtime northern Colorado residents, Tim and Julie know what it means to be not just business owners, but dedicated members of the Fort Collins community.
“We chose this business because the residents of the area are so community oriented and care deeply about their neighborhood and the quality of life here,”- Julie.
Tim and Julie’s first priority is always ensuring that customers have all the necessary supplies, resources and knowledge to turn their living space into a palace. On any given day, you’ll likely find Tim walking around the store – hands-on, greeting people and assisting customers.
Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,900 stores across all 50 states, the District of Columbia and approximately 60 countries. As part of a cooperative, every Ace Hardware store is independently owned.

I went in to buy a lawn mower and there were three employees working. One of them was busy with a customer, another was Shannon, the manager. The third was a new employee in training. The new employee, Pam, was very kind and offered her help, despite being what I imagine was her first day on the job. Shannon came over to help Pam through the checkout process. Both women were great to work with, and Shannon was beyond amazingly helpful. This store is now officially my store of choice for tools and appliances.David S.
Hello, I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know about my positive experience at your store. I came by during the last snow storm on Feb. 1 and a nice young gentleman helped me purchase my first snow shovel, ice melt and sleds. He was knowledgeable and friendly and I truly appreciated his help after just moving up here from Arizona. The ice melt was a godsend. Along with his wife, Julie, Tim took ownership of Ace Hardware of Fort Collins in 2015. His nearly 30 years of experience in the retail and commercial banking industry – not to mention his volunteer work in the northern Colorado community – prepared him well for this endeavor. Tim lives every day staying as helpful as possible. In fact, his loyalty to Ace runs so deep that his go-to karaoke song is none other than the Ace jingle itself: “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks!”

Julie is enjoying her involvement with Ace Hardware of Fort Collins. She currently works full-time with The Health District of Northern Larimer County promoting and supporting their client programs for a healthy life. After an extensive 25 year career in marketing, Julie hasn’t looked back. Outside of the store, Julie enjoys using Ace’s expansive product collection to grow her personal garden, or you might find her singing along to U2 at a local karaoke night!
