“Julie and I are privileged to be part of such a strong culture of service and such a great team…” – Tim Kenney.
In 2003, Clays’ Ace Hardware, now known as Ace Hardware of Fort Collins formally opened their doors. After 12 years of being a go-to resource for local DIY-ers, owners Jim and Lisa Clay were ready to hand over the keys so they could pursue new ventures in northern Colorado. Tim and Julie Kenney took ownership of Clays’ Ace Hardware in November of 2015, continuing to operate with the same great team and same great service. With the transfer of ownership and simple identification, a new name was initiated and Clays’ Ace Hardware is now officially Ace Hardware of Fort Collins.
“We felt the name change was paramount for being easily identified by our loyal customers as an Ace Hardware store of our local community.” – Tim
Owner Tim Kenney worked in banking for 28 years while his wife Julie worked in the marketing industry prior to taking ownership of Ace Hardware of Fort Collins. Their combined business experience gave them the tools and expertise needed to lead one of the most successful hardware stores in the Front Range.
As longtime northern Colorado residents, Tim and Julie know what it means to be not just business owners, but dedicated members of the Fort Collins community. Their first priority is always ensuring that customers have all the necessary supplies, resources and knowledge to turn their living space into a palace. On any given day, you’ll likely find Tim out in the store – hands-on, meeting people and still carrying on the great service Ace is known for.
Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,900 stores across all 50 states, the District of Columbia and approximately 60 countries. As part of a cooperative, every Ace Hardware store is independently owned.
